Patients' Rights
- The patient has the right to receive appropriate medical care with taking his needs into consideration and without any discrimination.
- The patient has the right to know the position and the name of each of the responsible doctor, the nurses, and anyone taking care of him.
- The patient has the right to know everything about his disease along with the treatment plan with using a clear vocabulary he can understand, answering all his questions concerning his medical case, and also providing translation services if needed.
- The patient has the right to maintain his own privacy. He should be taken care of in a safe environment where no assault can take place, and he has the complete right to refuse seeing or talking to anyone out of the hospital’s staff.
- The patient has the right to have someone of the same gender when needed (in case of special medical examination or treatment).
- The patient has the right to preserve his privacy and confidential information as well as his medical and social data so no one can access them unless he is directly related to the treatment of the patient. Any information related to the patient cannot be revealed without his written agreement, except in case of danger on his life, legal procedures like being less than 18 years, or having a contagious disease.
- The patient has the right to complete his treatment, and to be informed if he needs to be transferred to any other treatment foundation outside the hospital.
- The patient has the right to be informed about all the regulations pursued in the hospital and related to his treatment, and about all his duties towards the hospital and the staff. He has also the right to know where to head in case of needed clarifications or complaints.
Patients' Duties
- The patient should provide all the information concerning his medical case including any medicament he’s taking, diseases already treated, contagious diseases, allergies, and previous hospitalizations.
- The patient should inform the doctor if he doesn’t want to continue the prescribed treatment.
- The patient should follow all the instructions and regulations of the hospital, including respecting the appointments and all the financial commitments.
- The patient should cooperate to follow the medical instructions related to his treatment and provided to him by the medical staff.
- The patient should not encroach other patients’ rights, he should also neither reveal any of their personal information, nor messing with their dignity.
- The patient should respect other patients’ rights as well as the hospital staff’s rights, with neither disturbing, nor smoking inside the hospital.
- The patient should respect the medical staff as well as the workers in the hospital, he shouldn’t assault them in any verbal or physical way.
- The patient should not bring any precious property to the hospital, and in case he did, he should leave them at the entrance office and take a receipt instead.
Patients' Satisfaction Department
The patients’ satisfaction department plays an important role in making sure that all patients are having their entire rights and doing the responsibilities expected from them, the department also helps patients in bypassing any difficulty that may encounter them through a specific staff that do the following:- Doing a daily tour in all the medical sections including the emergency to make sure patients are satisfied with the services provided.
- Explaining the policy and rules of the hospital to the patient, and informing him about all his rights and responsibilities.
- Receiving patients’ complaints and working on finding appropriate solutions for.
- Answering patients’ questions and enquiries, and guiding patients according to needs.
- Following-up the patient’s exit plan.
- Helping patients with special needs and facilitating the procedures for them.
