You should inform your doctor and the responsible nurse about all kinds of medicaments you are taking and the treatments you are using like:
- Medicaments used according to a prescription
- Additional medicaments that are not based on a prescription such as pain relievers and cough medicaments
- Any medicament you had from a family member or a friend such as vitamins and herbal products
- If you have any kind of allergy against a specific food or drug or anything that had caused you an allergy or serious complications
- Ask your doctor or the pharmacist about any medicament prescribed to you when it comes to its complications and known or expected side effects
The patient's exit plan starts from the beginning of the treatment, as soon as the patient enters the hospital. So you should ask your doctor about the expected date of going back home, and stay informed with all the instructions including the medicaments and the required equipments if any, along with any supplement of the treatment. Notice that it is very important to continue practicing safe healthy habits at home, and have a long talk with your doctor and the responsible nurse to gather all information, and check all medical prescriptions before taking the medicaments.
